These Angus bulls are all breedplan recorded, fertility tested and guaranteed to work. Our selection of Angus bulls will be both spring and autumn drop. The spring drop bulls offer good value for using over heifers for two seasons before becoming too physically large to be able to safely mate heifers. Our bulls offer cutting edge American, New Zealand and Australian genetics.
This year, Boonaroo Angus presents a line-up of 59 Angus bulls for auction on Thursday, February 16 at 3pm. Sires include Highlander of Stern offering outstanding new genetics from New Zealand, his sons are displaying optimal growth and structure, do-ability with a superb temperament. Another sire from New Zealand Te Mania Infinity has sons that are outstanding bulls for phenotype, calving ease and functionality. Te Mania Berkley B1, has several calving ease sons selling, these bulls have tremendous body depth and a good calving ease shape. Te Mania Ada sons are big, thick topped and are early maturing, Booroomooka Warrick sons are quality bulls displaying softness and do-ability. Anvil Chick Magnet’s sons have body length and.muscling, Anvil Chewbacca transmits good hoof structure, body length and growth. All bulls have been screened and tested for all recessive genetic traits (AM, CA, NH) where evident in their pedigrees, and culled if found to be carriers. All cattle are MN3 Cattle Map accredited, Pfizer star vaccinated and ear notched for Peste virus.
Boonaroo is now running 250 stud Angus cows with the purchase of the highly successful Galway Angus Herd. The two cow herds combine to host a powerhouse of very successful New Zealand genetics, blended with the high performance bulls from the U.S. and the most successful Australian bloodlines. This combination provides heavy and deep bodied cows, which are structurally sound, quiet to handle, soft and easy doing. Boonaroo cows must re-breed and rear calves without constant feeding. Hoof structure is paramount for animals to thrive on the sandy soils of Boonaroo.
Shane & Jodie Foster welcome visitors for their Beef Week Field Days on Friday February 3rd at “Clifton” in Hamilton, Victoria, and Monday February 6th at Boonaroo to preview the sale line-up. The Boonaroo Angus and the Lindsay Murray Grey 32nd annual production sale will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012, at 3pm, inspection from 1pm. A complimentary lunch will be provided, followed by a BBQ after the sale. Boonaroo cattle are genetic defect free, fully vaccinated, structurally-assessed, and guaranteed fertile. Pinebank Waigroup 41-97 is a bull to optimise fertility, and give functionality back to your herd. He is 100% NZ blood, he is a total outcross bull, he has soft easy doing calves with extreme body depth. If your cattle have blown out in frame and find the seasons too hard, use this bull to bring them back to a functional base.
Hoff Limited Edition, to add thickness and carcase where needed, he displays extreme depth and thickness while still maintaining softness and do-ability. After a few great calves by Waimata Lad E230 we’ve used him more heavily this year, his ability to correct feet and legs, produce long deep bodied functional & quiet cattle is exceptional.
SAV Front Runner; here we are aiming to keep a tight predictable line of calves with similar type to their sires and dams. Big bodied, big frame with solid sound structure, and strong carcase and fertility traits, including Calving Ease.
Lawsons GAR Gridmaker Y258 is a fully imported embryo by the famous Gridmaker, whose dam has sold over 1.2 million dollars worth of progeny in the US alone. Gridmaker Y258 is out of a Precision dam, he exhibits tremendous growth, carcase and an excellent libido, working from the age of 15 months both spring & autumn joining.
He is extremely quiet and easy to handle which he has passed on to all his calves.
